In 1959, Donald Kirkpatrick wrote a series of articles in which he outlined a method of evaluating training. Those 4 levels have become the state of the art. When people talk about evaluation, they talk Kirkpatrick.

There’s no much wrong with Kirkpatrick. My issue is that there’s not much there there. It’s too thin. It doesn’t help us much when we want to improve our interventions.

So, I’ve developed a new model. I call it LIP – Learner; Instruction; Program.
